The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced on June 25, 2024, an investment of $5.1 million in grant funds to the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation, Inc., in Warsaw, to support construction of its new Allied Health Education Center.
The Northern Neck Planning District Commission assisted Rappahannock Community College with the application to EDA to secure this crucial funding for the project.
The new facility will be located on a parcel on Richmond Road (Rt. 360) within the Warsaw city limits. The land is owned by the RCC Educational Foundation and is directly adjacent to the existing RCC campus. The RCC Foundation also owns parcels to the East and West of the project site that are available for possible expansion, should a future need arise.
The new facility will “recruit, train and retain health professionals and build a pathway for continuing education opportunities,” EDA’s announcement said.
The project will be matched with $1.3 million in local funds and provide an additional economic development investment to the various grants and loans that have been secured for the Town of Warsaw in the last ten years.
