Northern Neck Hub-Zone Companies Among Recipients of Seaport Contract

Warsaw, VA —The U.S. Navy has awarded spots on a potential ten-year, $50 billion contract to 1,870 businesses for project management and engineering-support services.

Three Northern Neck companies were awarded contracts in this announcement: MTEQ in Kilmarnock; Digital Dynamics, LLC, in Kilmarnock; and NNk C4 Solutions in Lancaster.

According to govconwire.com, the scope of work mentioned in the solicitation notice includes systems engineering, software development, research and development, system design documentation and technical data, financial analysis, quality assurance, configuration management, information technology and logistics support.

Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) Executive Director Jerry W. Davis said, “The development of the professional, scientific, and technical services sectors of the Northern Neck economy is a top priority in alignment with the GO Virginia Region 6 Economic Growth and Diversification Plan. Lancaster County, Northumberland County, and Richmond County are designated as Qualified Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone). As such, the Northern Neck is well-positioned to attract federal contracts and increase employment around this high-wage economic sector. To encourage technology- and defense-sector companies to succeed in the Northern Neck, the NNPDC convenes a quarterly informal networking group together with federal small-business procurement personnel to discuss challenges and opportunities in federal contracting.”
