Virginia Breeze is a new intercity bus service. It’s been such a success, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is considering new routes for it throughout the state. The only existing route connects Blacksburg, Virginia, with Union Station in Washington, D.C. The daily route includes several stops in the New River Valley, Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia.
Now, you can let DRPT know that you would like to see a new route from Hampton Roads to Union Station, stopping at Bay Transit’s Warsaw facility, allowing all Northern Neck residents to easily travel to Hampton Roads and the Washington Metropolitan Area without the need of a car. Take the Virginia Breeze survey here to let DRPT know that you support this new route.
The new route (shown below) was proposed by Bay Transit and the Northern Neck Planning District Commission’s Neckride Program on March 27, 2019. Buses would travel from Old Dominion University > Hampton >Newport News > Gloucester > Tappahannock > Warsaw > Montross > King George > Fredericksburg > Reagan National Airport > Union Station—and back.
